What age group do you work with? I work with adolescents and teens ages 11-18, my expertise is middle school years.
What is the difference between coaching and tutoring?
How does online coaching work? Is it as effective as in-person coaching? I provide online coaching for all. In my experience, I have found that online coaching works just as well as in-person coaching. Thanks to modern technology, virtual clients stay busy during a session using screen sharing, google Docs, video chat, slides, and computer drawing tools. Not to mention all clients receive a welcome-to-coaching package with a dry-erase board, marker, and eraser. Online coaching also makes it easier for families to find the perfect expert who fits their needs. Plus, it offers the flexibility to schedule sessions around your busy life. It also prevents stopping the positive momentum of a student when we end a session. They can jump straight into homework or studying instead of having to hop into a car after a session. It’s a convenient way to support your student's growth and development right from home.
How are the cost of your services broken down? 1. There is a non refundable intake fee that covers the cost of the discovery process over the first few weeks prior to starting coaching services. This includes the creation of personalized coaching plan, up to one hour of review of any assessment documents, collecting baseline data, discovery meeting, student assessment, and family team meeting. 2. After the intake process, I ask for a 12 week coaching commitment. Beyond that, we will decide together when to pause or end the coaching relationship. 3. Coaching sessions and Family team meetings are billed two weeks in advance. Pre-paid sessions and makeup credits are non-refundable but are yours to use until you cancel services. 4. Each session includes up to 45 minutes of 1 to 1 coaching, and 15-minutes of meeting preparation, and weekly parent progress updates to keep you informed on your student's progress via phone, email or text (according to your preference). Please email me for cost of services.
What does the discovery process and 1st month of coaching look like?
Why do I ask for a 12 class commitment? This allows your learner and myself time to experiment with strategies and fine-tune an approach that can be replicated in following semesters. When I can establish a safe, compassionate relationship with your learner and provide them with personalized attentive guidance in their areas of development, these abilities can lead to self-assurance and a more harmonious family dynamic.
How do you communicate between sessions? We will stay connected between sessions via your preferred form of contact (email, text, or quick call). I will be available for periodic check-ins. Support and follow-up for each student is individualized to their needs. Coaching Session Reports: Parents are emailed a session report after every coaching session so they can follow their student’s journey and practice the individualized tools and strategies recommended.
What is your cancelation policy? I have a 24-hour cancellation policy for your scheduled sessions. Please contact me at least 1 days (24 hours) before your scheduled session to reschedule your session. Cancellations less than 24 hours of your scheduled session will result in a charge for the full cost of your session. I do keep in mind emergency situations and illness.
How do I cancel services? I make every effort to deliver exceptional educational services. If you are not fully satisfied, please call or email within 30 days of your first session and let me know of your concerns. If you decide that my coaching services is not a good fit for you and you do not want to move forward I will refund your unused sessions. If after 30 days of your first session to cancel please email me a requested last day of service. In this case, there will be no refunds or credits for pre-paid sessions or make-up credits.
